About WallacePledger PLLC

In the spring of 2002 Archibald Wallace, III and Richard T. Pledger left major firms to join their practices in a firm where litigation and business transactions would be the core of their business. The business plan developed for WallacePledger, PLLC called for a selectively collect group of lawyers with expertise in a variety of settings. Every lawyer in the firm had to share two common traits: (1) Each had to be a seasoned trial lawyer in some area of the law and (2) Each had to have had experience in transactional matters for businesses or individuals related to their litigation experience.

In its first two plus years, WallacePledger has remained faithful to that business intent, growing to five lawyers. Every lawyer added has met the threshold criteria of having tried multiple cases as a first chair trial lawyer, and each person is experienced in a broad panoply of transactional matters. WallacePledger also added to this core a staff of legal assistants and secretaries long experienced in the idiosyncrasies of litigation and transactional matters so that (1) trials of multiple days or weeks, trials with extensive documentation, and trials with heavy technological requirements could be routinely handled, and (2) both complex and routine transactional matters could be handled efficiently and effectively.

In implementing its business plan, WallacePledger chose to locate in Richmond, Virginia, near major interstate highways, and near convenient rail and air transportation. From this hub only minutes from all of the major trial and appellate courts in central Virginia, WallacePledger is able to practice with ease across Virginia and into West Virginia and D.C.

What is the future for WallacePledger? We intend to continue to add trial and transactional specialists on a piece-by-piece basis until we have redundancy in every practice area. What WallacePledger has found in its focused practice with experienced lawyers is that it actually reduces overhead and the ultimate cost to its clients.

The lawyers of WallacePledger are leaders in their fields who bring great diversity to the problems they are asked to solve. The legal world is full of lawyers who say they are litigation lawyers, but who are really discovery and pre-trial preparation lawyers. The legal world is also heavily populated with lawyers who put the pieces of transactional matters together after the strategic mapping is done by others. This is not who we are. We are trial lawyers, who have been there. Moreover, we are transactional lawyers who have handled the complex and the mundane. We have faced the best. We have walked the toughest paths.
